Today, due to the increasing population of the world and consequently increasing demand for the energy, the consumption of the fossil fuels has also increased. The use of such energy sources doesn’t cause only enviromential pollution, and create significant and harmful impacts on our health, but also overloads our atmosphere with carbon dioxide and other global warming emissions, which trap heat, steadily drive up the planet’s temperature and makes fatal impact especially for the polar region animals up to their extictions by shrinking their living areas.

     On the other hand, the increase of the percentage of renewable energies and energy efficiency is a global challenge with regard to the scarcity of resources.  Sustainable use of the renewable energy sources offers environmental, social and economic benefits. Humanity must be aware of their existence, potentials, harvesting, technologies of use and benefits from very beginning (childhood) in order to enable clean and prosperous future. To ensure it, without doubt, raising  the awareness of the youngsters  will be one of the main steps to sustain this from generation to generation.

       Still, children/students get only theoretical and scarce knowledge which leaves open doors to the conventional energy sources. Renewable energies are available everywhere and the technologies of application are mature and relatively simple. This project will use the pedagogical approach of portfolio for self-evaluation and a virtual learning environment, web site and blogs.

       It is vital that our children develop a solid understanding of renewable energy’s power and its various possible applications. The project proposal offers great start for youngsters to learn more about all types of renewable energy, and grow up more informed about the vital role of renewable technologies in changing world’s energy future.
