Ankara Pro. Dir. of Environment and Urbanization

     Ankara Provincial Directorate of Environment  and Urbanization faciliates Construction Supervision and Project services, Building  Materials and Supervision Services, Development plan services, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Permit Management and Supervision Services - Natural Asset Protection Services - Infrastructure and Urban Transformation Services in accordance with the Decree Law of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of Ankara, numbered 644 on the Organization and Duties of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.
         The organization carries out environmental and city planning inspections within the limits specified in the legal legislation, and performs certification, licensing and permitting procedures.
     In addition to all of these,  the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization in Ankara also has been leading some social responsibilty projects.  For instance, since 2015, they have been working on "Hand in Hand For Ankara" project  to better inform people about some environmential and urban transformational services included in their job descriptions for its legislative aspects and emerging problems during execution of the service. Within the scope of the project, joint intellectual meetings are held with the sector representatives. Since 2015, nearly 100 meetings have been organized.

       Within the scope of the Environmental Volunteer Awareness Project in Ankara, initiated by Ankara Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization in 2015, certain trainings were given in primary and high schools for environment, environmental problems and measures to be taken, global warming, recycling, energy saving, renewable energy issues and awareness raising. Approximately 20,000 student trainings were given so far, throughout Ankara within the scope of the project.
         The Provincial Directorate, furthermore, develops projects in such ways as disadvantaged groups living in Ankara, increasing the  participation of low income level people more in social life, providing services on more suitable terms. In this context, June World Environment Day Nursery Classes" project developed by the Directorate played an important role for raising the environmental awareness by  June the 5th World Environment Day celebrations. The project aimed to raise awareness of the environment on the occasion of the 5th of June World Environment Day and ensure that children perceive the necessity of preserving the environment every day rather than one day. Within this scope, Mamak Gülveren Elementary School in 2015 and AltindaÄŸ Solfasol Elementary School in 2016 were selected as pilot schools where maintenance, reparation and all furnishings of the kindergartens took place with the coordination of the Provincial Directorate.

         The first application of the "Brotherhood Bridge Project" initiated with the aim of promoting the natural assets of our country to the children of primary and middle school age by common coordination between the Provincial Directorates of Environment and Urbanism and increasing the awareness of protecting the natural assets / environment in every corner of our country was the first application of the Provincial Directorate and IÄŸdır. It was realized under the coordination of Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanism.This work with the project is not restricted to the provinces where the Provincial Directorates are located, and it is possible for the children to recognize the natural assets of their country, Turkey and gain environmental awareness without distance limitation.
         On March 2016, Ankara Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanism met with Syrian women and children who escaped from the war in Syria within the scope of social responsibility and took refugees in Turkey. In cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent Ankara Branch, after a brief training to raise awareness of the environment for our children, staff of the Directorate  played games with children and ensured children to have fun. In the organization where our staff prepared their home treats together, gifts were presented, which they combined with the small quantities that the staff of the Directorate set apart from their family budget.
